IntraVision presents Firefly CMS — one of the most reliable and practic content management systems.

Web site consists of patterns, pages and documents. Patterns fix design, positions of page components. Document is a text or its part. Pattern, position in a site tree, attached documents and online units form a page. Page fill consists of static documents and dynamic content that includes:

• voting questionnaire;
• newswire, with page display and archive;
• user data form;
• search window;
• etc.

IntraVision provides customers with ready-to-use patterns, initial site structure, document samples and even elementary page filling.

Creating a page one can look through a pattern list in order to see component positions.

Document is a fragment of HTML, and one can edit it through user-friendly interface or without it. Edit is conducted form a page or through Content menu item. Document samples simplify content manager’s tasks.

Creating or editing a page content manager can use preview function that will help him to avoid errors.

Content manager edits document through a multifunctional visual editor or manually (if he is experienced enough). The system includes special dialog that allows to past pictures (choosing from a picture list) and links (choosing a page, picture or download). The system supports almost all the formats that follow HTML standards and CSS style sheets, pulling pattern CSS automatically.

Firefly CMS allows to manage web site structure: create, move and delete folders and pages, align documents.

One of the most useful functions is possibility to attach several document to one page, and one document to several pages. This function becomes especially important when a content manager has to put the same information on several pages.

The site tree looks user-familiar and has context menu. Besides it supports localization, so one can develop a tree for each language.

News is a standard online component. It allows to create infinite number of newswires, support different languages and archivation. For creating and editing news and documents is used the same editor.

Pictures,.doc, .pdf, .xls files, àrchives ( .zip, .rar) arå kept in a special file system. It streamlines file access and discharges a database server. The system also supports file loading on the server. Files are edited on the server through web interface.

Almost all the dynamic sites do not work fast — each page generates anew and only then it is sent to a client. Site providers try to solve it in many ways: through caching, request optimization, changing hardware and hosting.

We have solved the problem cardinally: some pages remain dynamic others replaced with static (HTML) and based on incremental renewal and full regeneration. Through it we have got a lot of advantages, for example, hosting expenses reduction.

Firefly CMS — is a fully scalable system that supports development and integration of various function modules: forums, forms, online shops, catalogues, magazines an so on. New modules could be developed by outside programmers — IntraVision provides customer with a special interface for module incorporation.

Adaptation of new online components is conducted only on the web-server — it is one of the advantages of CMS. Using IE 5.5 (and higher) our customer doesn’t care about renewal of versions.

Firefly uses .NET Framework, IIS, Windows Server 2000-2003, MS SQL 2000. Internal XML data exchange allows to send data to other resources, and also to recieve information.
